Peta Spurling-Brown
Peta Spurling-Brown founded SA-based production company Hey Boss in 2015, quickly gaining momentum as one of the most exciting independent producers in Australia.
Her collaborative approach with early clients Damian Callinan, Double Denim (Michelle Brasier & Laura Frew), Jamie MacDowell & Tom Thum, Barnie Duncan [NZ] and Deanna Fleysher [US] cemented her reputation for excellence - carving out a niche in sophisticated yet accessible alternative comedy and cross-genre entertainment.
With a strong presence at Adelaide and Edinburgh fringe festivals, Hey Boss imported some of the most exciting international talent to Australia’s summer festivals including 'Fleabag' (co-production with DryWrite & Soho Theatre), Alex Rossi & Friends 'The After Party' [US] (Best Music Award, Adelaide Fringe 2019), 'Butt Kapiniski' [US] (Best Comedy Award FRINGE WORLD 2017), ‘Gobby’ by Jodie Irvine [UK], and Abandoman [IRE].
Hey Boss toured artists to Finland, Switzerland, New Zealand, Korea, UAE, and the UK, as well as extensive national tours and festival seasons spanning 2015 - 2023.
Peta joined the Mooshead Committee in 2024, supporting comedians to stretch their creative legs through grants and awards. She is also the co-creator of Smashed: The Brunch Party and can sometimes be seen singing bv’s in the show.
